The Center for Global Business is grateful for the distinguished group of global executives on our Advisory Board. Rogelio Cueva, a well-known figure in the Mexican food industry, has been supporting our mission since joining the board in September 2023.

A proud McCombs alumnus from the Class of ’79, Rogelio added an MBA to a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from his hometown Monterrey, Mexico.

Rogelio’s career has centered on producing popular Mexican snacks and condiments through his family-owned companies. Although recently retired from daily operations at Mega Alimentos S.A. de C.V. he remains an active board member.

Working in this vital industry has been gratifying, Rogelio says. “The food industry has been immensely rewarding. It offers a chance to make a tangible impact on people’s daily lives and cultural experiences. In Mexico, food is deeply intertwined with our heritage and traditions. Contributing to that legacy while adapting to modern business practices and global markets has been truly satisfying.”

Beyond his professional life, Rogelio maintains his physical and mental acuity through sports like paddle tennis, scuba diving, and kiteboarding.

To those pursuing international careers, Rogelio offers this advice: “Never underestimate the power of diverse experiences. Embrace lifelong learning. Even in retirement, I’m an avid reader of history and philosophy, which continue to enrich my life and broaden my perspectives.”
