CGB Welcomes a New Intern for 2022–2023

Hello! My name is Julian Gonzalez, and I will be this year’s Outreach and Logistics intern for the Center for Global Business. I am a third-year Bachelor of Science Economics major pursuing a minor in International Business. I am from Queretaro, Mexico, a state about three hours north of Mexico City. I have also lived and studied in Boston, Dallas, and Austin.

Academically, I am interested in studying how individual’s decision-making affects microeconomic trends and how macroeconomic factors influence individual nations and play a role in the global economy. My interest in international markets, globalization, and transnational trade motivated me to pursue a minor in international business. Another of my interests is global cultures. I enjoy learning about what makes different regions, cultures, and people distinct yet similar at the same time. It was because of my interests that I felt motivated to apply for this role. After reading the Center’s mission statements, values, and role description, I realized that this job would be a perfect fit for me, and that I would be a perfect fit for the CGB.

Outside of classes, I am actively involved in different organizations. I am the Director of Events of Planet Longhorn, the largest international student organization on campus. I am also a member of the Latin Economic and Business Association, LEBA. Finally, I am an International Analyst for an organization based in Quito, Ecuador, called “Democracia Ecuador.” I research economic, political, social, and business trends in Ecuador and Latin America in this organization.

I am excited to be this year’s intern at the Center for Global Business. I hope to learn and grow my expertise, not just professionally but academically. Finally, I hope that my work at the CGB can, in one way or another, tremendously impact the different missions the Center has been working to achieve.
