CGB Welcomes Dr. Robert Carroll
The Center for Global Business (CGB) is delighted to welcome Dr. Robert Carroll, a new member of McCombs’ International Business faculty. With a Ph.D. in interpersonal communication from UT, Dr. Carroll is already well known at McCombs, where he has taught Business Communication to undergraduates and coached MBA students in self-presentation. In addition to working with business executives at an international consulting firm, he teaches abroad in diverse locations — in Barcelona and Copenhagen this summer alone.
CGB director Dr. Deirdre Mendez described the importance of his contribution to the Intercultural Management course: “Students in this course develop skills for navigating cultural differences in international business, leading diverse teams, and conducting cross-border negotiations. Dr. Carroll’s blend of academic expertise, international knowledge, and practical experience will provide valuable insights for students preparing for global business careers.”
Dr. Carroll expressed his enthusiasm for joining the program, “It is my pleasure to join Dr. Mendez in teaching such an important topic. For anyone doing business in a post-Covid and interconnected world, understanding how to manage global teams, serve global customers, and achieve successful cultural integration on international collaborations and M&A projects is critical to success. I am looking forward to diving into the content and bringing it to life so that our students can master these skills.”
