On May 25, 2021 the Class of 2021 gathered at Darrell K Royal — Texas Memorial Stadium to celebrate the achievements of one of the most adaptable cohorts in UT’s 138 year history. In addition to the growth and change of a typical college career, the Class of 2021 has spent the final 15 months of their time at UT transitioning from in-person to Zoom learning, adjusting to evolving mask and social distancing requirements, navigating vaccine distributions, and (of course) enduring an unprecedented polar-vortex, freeze, and power outage.

The Class of 2021 deserves more than our typical praise. There are few of us who could have adapted as well when we were their age, and the skills they’ve acquired in abundance— resilience, flexibility, problem solving, perseverance— will be a tremendous asset to the graduates and their employers in the future. So to the Class of 2021, congratulations. And may your fortitude help you change the world.

Full video of the proceedings, including remarks by keynote speaker Bob Iger, is available HERE. Congrats to the Class of 2021!
