With more and more people getting vaccinated and many universities returning to on campus classes, it feels like things are heading back to normal. However, there are still concerns surround travel and what that means for international students studying in the US.

In the U.S., only three vaccines have been granted emergency use authorization by the FDA, but the World Health Organization has authorized eight. Depending on what country you are from, you are more likely to have access to one versus another. With policies varying by university on what vaccines they are accepting or if they are requiring vaccination, international students may well be confused about what to expect when trying to return to campus.

Here are some things International students should be prepared to expect:

  • Students may need to quarantine at school.
  • Remote learning may be a possibility.
  • Revaccination may be required.

Your school might do all or some of the above, but the best way for international students to know what to expect is to check with their school regarding its vaccine policies.
