New Minor in National Security and International Business
Starting this fall, a new minor in National Security and International Business Minor will be available to incoming UT Austin students.
Jointly offered by the Center for Global Business and the Clements Center for National Security, the NSIB minor will provide undergraduates with the opportunity to explore the interdependent relationship between national security on the one hand and private business — especially international business — on the other. Students will graduate with an appreciation that the health of each domain is predicated on the strength of the other.
Students in the minor will complete the following coursework:
- International Security (GOV 360D)
- Global Political Economy (BGS 374)
- International Trade (IB 350)
- Global Value Chains (IB 368)
- Approved course in National Security
Students will also be allowed to substitute a pre-approved national security internship for one of the above courses.
This NSIB minor is an excellent complement to students looking to enter private business sector with an appreciation for the intertwined relationship between the national and international interests, and is a particularly excellent addition to any business or government degree.
