Located in the nation’s top export state, it’s natural that UT-Austin should play a leadership role in preparing students to thrive in a global environment. As Texas cities, including Austin, solidify their place as top U.S. locations for international business, UT has renewed its commitment to enabling leaders of the future to make ethical, informed decisions amid global shifts and uncertainty.

UTs strategic plan has set the stage for programs throughout the university that build on its iconic Texas identity while addressing the realities of an interconnected global world. A vital contributor to UT’s international role, the Center for Global Business (CGB) at Texas McCombs is a catalyst for cultivating a global mindset across the UT community. By facilitating innovative coursework, outstanding speakers, access to international experience and career preparation, CGB supports UT’s commitment to students’ global readiness.

At the university level, global initiatives are supported by President Hartzell’s International Board of Advisors, a diverse group of strategic thinkers, subject experts, and philanthropists. This structure is replicated at CGB as well on our outstanding Board of Advisors. We’re proud that Ray Brimble, who serves on both boards, has dedicated many years of service to CGB. In Brimble’s words, “Texas Business is global business. Our continued prosperity depends on understanding the rest of the world and engaging with it in positive ways. I know that many students at UT Austin wish to do just that: be the change they wish to see in the world.”

From boardrooms to research labs, UT graduates are making contributions on the international stage. Their achievements underscore the practical application of the global perspectives instilled during their time at UT. After all, what starts here…changes the world!
