A Global Mindset expands and multiplies your power of innovation — building a diverse team that understands multiple cultures, backgrounds and experiences, enables you to activate the superpowers of each individual, and approach problems with a wider point of view that will lead an organization to leap forward.

I spent +16 years of my career at Dell, and I still remember the huge impact of bringing marketing teams from around the world to work together in our strategic regional plans — we learned new ways of engaging with the customer, we improved the ROI of our campaigns, and we brought innovation to the demand generation engine far beyond what was expected.

During my time at NI (National Instruments) as CMO, I saw the power of the campaign team being able to drive a GTM strategy across industries, regions, and languages by partnering with subject matter experts across the world and learning from customer experiences in each region. The NI flagship event in Austin was another great example of incorporating this global mindset into action and building an experience that not only delighted the US customers but brought an international approach to reach our APAC, Europe, and Latin America customers which came to life through case studies, speakers, demos, live training and networking.

As companies continue to grow and customers are at the center of everything, we should bring this global mindset to innovate our efforts.
