Welcoming Global Business Specialist Michael Muth to IB Faculty
We’re pleased to welcome Michael Muth, our newest International Business faculty member, who joins us as we expand McCombs’ International Business offerings in both theoretical and practical aspects of trade. Muth will teach Foundations of International Business, a cornerstone course attracting students from across UT, and Global Value Chains, a highly sought-after topic in today’s interconnected economy.
Dr. Deidre Mendez, CGB’s Director, emphasizes the value this new faculty member brings to the program: “Michael Muth brings a wealth of global experience to the classroom. From his years with the U.S. Commercial Service to his private sector experience navigating global markets, Michael’s perspective will enrich our program and prepare students for real-world challenges.”
Michael’s journey in international business began after graduating from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, leading him to a dynamic career in business development and international relations. With over a decade spent overseas with the U.S. Commercial Service, he’s equipped with firsthand insights into the complexities of global trade.
Beyond his government work, Michael has a strong background in technology and has held roles in international policy for both U.S. and Canadian governments. His blend of public and private sector experience makes him uniquely positioned to help students grasp the intricate balance between business operations and policy-making on a global stage.
Michael expressed his enthusiasm about joining the McCombs faculty: “I’m excited about joining the faculty of McCombs’ BGS department and sharing my experiences from around the world in business, government, and academia with UT students. I have lots of interesting stories to tell based on my experience in business and government, and I look forward to using them to enrich my courses.”
We’re excited to see how Michael’s expertise and passion for teaching will inspire the next generation of international business leaders.
